BIOGRAPHY

Ariel Ortega (b. 1984) is a Nicaraguan American artist who maintains an atelier in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is a multidisciplinary artist creating sculptures and paintings using industrial building materials as his primary medium. Ariel is best known for his flower motif, which explores themes of interdependence, impermanence, and eudaimonia.

Raised during Miami's vertical building boom and participating in the interior design demands of a rising metropolis, he gained firsthand knowledge of an industry where taste and aesthetics are paramount. The interplay between architecture and décor contributes to his affinity for construction materials. This idiosyncratic choice of medium offers a deeper narrative of emergence, where lead can transform into art.
